Original abstract

This article highlights the argument that Ukraine was at the epicenter of the major events of World War II and the European Resistance movement.This underscores the need to take the Ukrainian factor into account when studying these events, integrating Ukrainian, European, and world history.The article substantiates the theoretical and practical aspects, as well as the methodological and factual possibilities of the Ukrainian narrative of transnational history, which an increasing number of researchers are using to study the place and role of Ukraine and Ukrainians in the Italian Resistance movement during World War II.Particular emphasis is placed on the gnoseological, epistemological, and axiological significance of scientific knowledge on this subject in the context of the large-scale Russian-Ukrainian war as a factor in state strategy and national security, as well as in the clarification and consolidation of the Ukrainian political nation.It is emphasized that this approach makes it possible to correctly articulate, and more objectively, systematically and deeply to find out the attitudes and motives, to trace the strategies and behavioral patterns of individuals, small and large groups of Ukrainian representatives, and the various forms of their direct participation in the Resistance movement in Italy, which was occupied by Hitler's troops during World War II.Based on a comprehensive analysis of domestic and foreign historical literature, it is noted that clarifying the place and role of Ukrainians in the Italian Resistance movement from the perspective of the Ukrainian narrative of transnational history allows for the most complete and comprehensive investigation, critically rethink and carry out a truly scientific reconstruction of these events in both European and global contexts.Therefore, the use of a transnational narrative makes it possible to more thoroughly investigate the scale and specifics of the Italian Resistance movement, to recreate the place of Ukrainians in it, and thereby take an important step towards "inscribing" Ukrainian history during World War II into the European and world civilizational space.
