Original abstract

This supplementary data corresponds to the MSc thesis: The influence of Critical Raw Material information on repair practices.<br><strong>Data description</strong>Data from a survey on repair practices and CRM information conducted through social media and Repair Cafés in the Netherlands, Belgium and France, as part of a master's thesis project collected between April and May 2026, and made available as supplementary data of the master's thesis (Appendix D). Supplementary data of the assessment of products repairability information, based on manufacturers and web sources is provided, as additional context to the research (Appendix F).<br><strong>Thesis objective and research question</strong>This thesis aims to understand to what extent the strategic and political concept of Critical Raw Materials can influence repair practices of citizens, and particularly their motivation to repair. This leads to the following research question: How to communicate to citizens the relevance of Critical Raw Materials (CRM) to the repair of Electric and Electronic Equipment (EEE)?To understand the repair habits of citizens and how to communicate Critical Raw Materials information, a survey was conducted. It identifies the factors influencing repair habits, identifies to what extent CRM information influences repair habits, and how information around CRM should be communicated to citizens (users of EEE) considering different types of information (environmental information, criticality and dependence information, social/ethical information), in the context of repair for EEE.<br><strong>Data contained in each file</strong>Appendix D"D1. Code data analysis.R": Contains the R code, used in Rstudio, version 2026.05.0+218. "D2. data.csv": Contains the anonymized dataset collected with the survey."D3. knowledge_product.csv": Data modified about the knowledge of respondents of products containing CRM used for processing the data (original data present in "D2. data.csv"). <br>Appendix F"Appendix F.xlsx": Assessment of the producer repairability instructions, of informal repairability instructions, spare parts availability and CRM information available for selected EEE.<br>
