Original abstract
Modern medicine faces several important challenges, among which I highlight access to therapeutic innovation and the proper integration of technological advances into healthcare systems and clinical practice. With this as a key focus of reflection, I have published several texts and books, both in Portugal and abroad, whose ideas will serve as the basis for this paper, taking as an example my personal perspective on the possible interpretation of Michelangelo’s painting “The Creation of Adam” in the Sistine Chapel of the Vatican and the work of the physician and surgeon Luís de Almeida in Japan.
