Original abstract
This study examines the key drivers that helps in implementing Circular Economy (CE) in Bangladesh’s manufacturing sector by focusing on textile, pharmaceutical, food processing, and equipment industries. The study employed a quantitative research design using convenience sampling techniques to collect data from 218 survey responses from selected manufacturing industries and job positions. Data were collected using a validated questionnaire, and the interrelations among environmental awareness, resource availability, regulatory pressure, and organizational culture with the implementation of a circular economy were examined using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The findings indicates that environmental awareness and regulatory pressure have a considerable impact on circular economy implementation whereas resource availability and organizational culture also have an impact, but to a lesser extent. Notably, organizational culture does not substantially moderate the relationship between regulatory pressure and circular economy implementation. These findings support a multimodal approach to implementing circular economy through enhance legal frameworks and corporate commitment to sustainability. This study offers actionable insights for stakeholders to promote a sustainable industrial transition in Bangladesh’s manufacturing sector. Future research should focus on broader and more diverse samples including different industries and rural regions to improve generalizability moreover, mixed-method approaches may provide a deeper insight into Circular Economy implementation.
