Original abstract

"Civilizational Storms" is the fifth volume of the collected works of independent researcher Gholamreza Rezaei. Dedicated to:Those who, in the heart of the storm, keep their eyes fixed on the horizon of reconstruction; to those who, in the darkness of bombardment, did not let go of the light of thought; to human beings who still believe that tools should not replace agents. Born from the Heart of Crisis:This book is the fruit of days when the sky of Tehran was red with fire and walls trembled from explosions. In those days, amidst the anxiety of clinging to life, the author came to understand: the only thing worth saving is "freedom." The only thing worth building is a "civilization based on human agency." Two Papers, One Purpose: This volume contains two complementary papers addressing the multifaceted crisis of our era: Paper 1: "The Theory of Conditionality of the Role of Modern Technologies"This paper confronts the challenge of modern tools. It warns that artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, data-driven platforms, and predictive algorithms are no longer mere instruments in human hands; they are becoming references for decision-making, social guidance, and even cultural engineering. The paper argues that if tools replace agents, and technology transforms from facilitator to ruler, then not only technology but the very foundations of identity and civilization will face disorder. Paper 2: "The Freedom of Freedoms: The Driving Force of Civilizational Transition"This paper addresses the challenge of dominant structures. It analyzes political, economic, and institutional obstacles to civilizational transition, including wealth concentration, extractive institutions, surveillance capitalism, and educational systems that produce consumerism rather than awareness. The paper offers a three-phase roadmap (Network Awakening → Parallel Institution-Building → Organic Replacement) with protection mechanisms to prevent regression. Why Two Papers in One Book?Although independent, these two papers are complementary. One views the crisis from within technology, the other from within political and economic structures. Both converge on a single point: the necessity of preserving and expanding "human agency" against any form of power concentration.
