Original abstract

As a new form of worker, gig workers are acknowledged and discussed in relation to the difficulties that mediators may encounter in managing them considering prior studies highlighting their differences from other workers, particularly from generation Z. This study investigates the work values of Generation Z graduates and their attitudes towards gig economy in India. Using a structured questionnaire with 200 participants across diverse academic streams, the study employed hypothesis testing to assess Gen Z's dedication to work ideals and their willingness to find gig work. Findings reveal that Gen Z significantly prioritizes intrinsic fulfilment and professional status. Also, the study mathematically demonstrates that the perceived benefits of flexibility and autonomy significantly outweigh the inherent risk of gig work. These insights assist organizations in refining recruitment and retention strategies for the emerging workforce.
